Shop Questions
Finding the Best Frozen Yogurt
We evaluate shops across seven criteria: tartness profile, ingredient quality, organic sourcing, protein density, topping bar sophistication, aesthetic design, and cult status. Each shop receives a score out of 10 in key categories based on public reviews, media mentions, and direct assessment.
An elite froyo shop scores 8+ across multiple criteria: premium ingredients, a distinctive tartness profile, thoughtful aesthetic design, and cultural impact. Elite shops define their city's froyo culture rather than simply serving frozen dessert.
The index is reviewed quarterly. New shops are added as they emerge, and existing listings are updated based on current quality, seasonal offerings, and any changes in ownership or formulation. We aim to have 200+ shops by end of 2026.
